Since 1986, Maine Island Kayak Co has provided unusual journeys, structured courses and great trips among outer islands of the world.

We travel in small groups to minimize our impact and enhance the quality of your experience. MIKCo journeys feature Maine’s 2,000+ islands and international trips to Mexico and Wales. Our Ocean School program immerses paddlers into the science and systems of the Gulf of Maine. We are Registered Maine Guides and BCU and ACA trained instructors, committed to giving you personal attention and quality instruction that we know works out on the sea in our small boats.

Maine Island Kayak Co has expedition grade sea kayaks and gear for Outfitting your self-supported journey, or we can arrange fully supported and guided Multi-Day Trips.

We have provided courses and expeditions in our unique Gulf of Maine for over 30 years. But we also have also traveled with our paddlers all over the world, from Alaska to Baja, Wales to British Columbia, the Canadian Maritimes to Florida and anywhere beautiful and challenging paddling beckons. If you’ve got an ideal trip in mind, call us and let’s work it out.
