Sea Kayak Georgia Skills Symposium & Ocean Gathering

Sea Kayak Georgia will be hosting Nigel Dennis for our 2025 Ocean Gathering Symposium on Tybee Island and surrounding waters. Nigel together with Sea Kayak Georgia will be running advanced strokes skills in flat water classes designed for those wanting to move to rougher water and intermediate and above rough water skills training.
The courses offered:
In flatwater: advanced strokes and maneuvers, rescues and towing, leadership training.
In rough water: intermediate and advanced boat control to include sea kayak surfing.

Skill level required to attend:
Intermediate skill level and above.
For the flatwater course you must have knowledge of basic strokes and experienced capsize and rescue. You will be looking to fine tune your technique and move into more difficult paddles.
For the rough water courses, you must be able to control your boat in rough water and have rolled prior to the class in an outside environment.
These courses will be for paddlers who have a good strokes foundation and roll and are ready to work beyond flat water.
