A long, slim, fast expedition kayak.

Part of the Pilgrim series, the Latitude is a narrow expedition kayak designed for the mid-sized or tall thin expedition paddler. The Latitude II differs from the previous model:

  • Wider cockpit rim - easier entry and exit and more comfortable for rolling.
  • Less length at the bow - better trim and weather control.
  • Decreased rocker - improves tracking.

About the NDK Latitude

The Latitude grew out of fact that so many mid-sized paddlers enjoyed the quickness and light edge of the Pilgrim Expedition when we wanted to paddle a longer boat, but without the additional width and volume of the Explorer.

The Latitude is fitted with the adjustable, high performance composite seat available in two widths, a long keyhole cockpit for excellent grip and control, a low rear deck for easy rolling, and a sloping bulkhead behind the seat for quick efficient emptying by simply lifting the bow. No x-rescue is necessary.

The Latitude’s extended knee bumps have been moved forward for the longer legged pilot. This kayak is similar to the Pilgrim Expedition, with the stern being lengthened by 2 inches. This extra volume has been added immediately behind the cockpit to reduce the amount that the stern of the kayak squats when being paddled forwards.

Recommended paddler weight: 140-195 lbs.

Latitude Review

"I have owned several kayaks and recently purchased a Latitude. I’ve paddled it now for about four months. l am 5’11”, 155 lbs. This kayak is fast, edges so easily for a long kayak, is very maneuverable, feels great loaded or unloaded. Rolling it is so easy, and in the rough stuff it feels fantastic. Can't recommend this kayak highly enough. Gives me so much confidence."
